Congratulations to CoreStaff for recently taking out MAX’s Medium Employer of the Year Award.
The medium business award was hotly contested as businesses from around the country with between 100 and 2000 employees battled it out.
While each of the three finalists was recognised for their commitment to building inclusive and diverse workplaces, CoreStaff stood out to take home the trophy.
During 2022, CoreStaff partnered with our team to connect over 60 MAX customers with employment opportunities. The cornerstones of the partnership include trust, flexibility and regular communication, and the outcomes for individual customers are a reflection of this.
For example, Paul, who lives with dyslexia is now in his dream job. Understanding Paul’s challenges, the teams worked together to support Paul through the online induction and written documentation components of the application. Without this personalised support, Paul’s application would not have progressed past the initial stages.
Three customers recently offered roles by CoreStaff had previously experienced trouble entering the workforce due to gaps in employment, criminal history and lack of a driver’s licence. CoreStaff worked with the MAX team to help each individual overcome their challenges and in turn support them into employment.
A process for pre-employment medical checks that has been implemented is underscored by flexibility and understanding between CoreStaff’s hiring team and MAX. The process ensures MAX customers are not excluded over elements of the medical check that are irrelevant to the role.
Annette Cusick, Operations Supervisor at CoreStaff Hobart accepted the award on behalf of the team.
Speaking of all finalists in the medium business category, MAX Executive General Manager – Employment Services, Fiona Lamb shared these insights into the medium business landscape in Australia.
Congratulations to Annette and the CoreStaff team on their win, and to the other exceptional finalists in this category.
• Skillco – Sydney, NSW
• Workpac Labourhire – Fitzroy, QLD
