After seven years of providing English language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills to more than 9,000 students, MAX is delighted to announce it will be delivering the new, redesigned service in nine regions across the country.

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program relaunched on 1 July 2024 under a new model which will see improvements such as expanded eligibility to any Australian over 15, workplace based options as well as an option for intensive support through our 12 week SEE the Difference program.

The need for SEE is significant. With unemployment at historic lows, those looking for work are people with complex or multiple barriers to employment.

  • 44% of adults have a low literacy reading level[1] (Year 10 level and below).
  • For 1 in 3 job seekers, the digital skills needed to find and apply for jobs are out of reach. [2]
  • 55% of adults score in the lowest two bands for numeracy[3]

These issues are strongly linked to socio-economic background.

Those already at a disadvantage to find a job in a tight labour market need support to engage and benefit from literacy skills programs.

John Cowley, National Operations Manager for Adult English, Skills and Employment at MAX, said:

“Key to these services is engagement.

“Literacy programs can really vary in success so engagement in the classroom is the key. By embedding literacy development into everyday life skills, students gain confidence by improving with tasks they struggle with.

“That sets a great foundation for our trainers to build on and further improve skills which ultimately result in better employment outcomes for them.”

MAX will deliver the SEE program in the following regions from 1 July.

  • Brisbane South East
  • Fitzroy
  • Gold Coast
  • Somerset
  • North and North West Tasmania
  • South Tasmania
  • South East Melbourne and Peninsula
  • Sydney South East Metro
  • Perth North

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program is delivered by MAX Solutions RTO: 0667 on behalf of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
