SLES in your NDIS plan

Eligibility for SLES

If you are finishing Year 12 and have a goal to find a job, you may be eligible for SLES. Your NDIS Planner will determine whether you are eligible and will record this in your NDIS Plan under “Finding and Keeping a Job”.

Once your eligibility is determined for SLES, we can support you in achieving your employment goals through an individualised plan.

We’ll assist in building your skills and confidence and transition from school towards meaningful employment.

MAX Solutions is a SLES provider in NSW, VIC, SA, QLD, TAS & ACT in all major cities including Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.

Tell us about you

When you first visit a MAX office, you will meet your consultant. We want you to feel comfortable with us and we will spend time getting to know you.

We’ll work to truly understand you and your interests, what your goals are and what skills you already have. We will listen to you.

Let us know who is in your support network so we can get to know them too. This might include friends, parents, other relatives or a support coordinator.

With MAX and your support team, you have the best chance of achieving your goals.

Your individualised preparation

Together with your consultant, we will create a personalised plan and a pathway to meaningful employment.

Your plan will be unique to you and may include:

  • Developing and refining your individual career aspirations
  • Developing your resume writing skills
  • Travel and workplace health and safety training modules.

Independent learning opportunities such as online training modules will also help you prepare for work and we can also connect you with a Psychologist or Exercise Physiologist to provide health support.

Throughout your journey you will continue to meet regularly with your MAX consultant who will support you through any challenges.

Activities to prepare you for work

Participating in a range of individual and small group activities will give you the opportunity to improve your independence, confidence, social skills and communication skills.

When you’re ready you can participate in work experience from a range of industries including business, hospitality, retail, IT, sports, manufacturing and tourism. You will work with people from all walks of life with a range of experience, qualifications and skills. Your work experience will assist with achieving your employment goals.

Gaining an understanding of your chosen industry will allow you to make an informed decision about the types of roles you would like to apply for in the future.

Your next steps

We will meet with you regularly to keep up to date with your progress, improve your plan and ensure it reflects your growing capacity.

Your consultant will ensure you’re ready for work and will support you to move into meaningful and sustainable employment. You will also have access to MAXConnect, a user-friendly job matching platform. MAXConnect matches your skills to appropriate jobs and connects you with potential employers.
