Earlier this year MAX launched a new Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to further enhance the Indigenous voice of its workforce and continue to support Indigenous people into work.
Five months on, we are delighted to publish our first RAP progress report. Setting out the steps we have taken in these early days to put the perspective of Indigenous staff at the centre of our organization.
Our RAP underscores MAX’s commitment to Closing the Gap in Indigenous employment outcomes in Australia.
Sean Gordon, the Independent Chair of the MAX Indigenous Advisory Committee, said: “MAX has committed itself to an ambitious RAP that places the voice of Indigenous people at the heart of how it develops policies and programs that impact Indigenous people.
“Our IAC continues to build on its vision for a strong Indigenous voice that has already added enormous value."
The RAP progress report provides an update on our work in the following four areas:
MAX Managing Director, Deborah Homewood, said: “I’d like to thank our Indigenous Advisory Committee for making such important progress over the last few months, especially in areas like our procurement policy, internal guidance for supporting Indigenous organisations, and training that uses the personal stories of our team members to help us understand the impacts of racism, and what we can do to stop it.
“We know there’s more we can do to support our Indigenous staff and customers. But we’re proud of what the team has already achieved in such a short space of time.”
“MAX can and should make a fundamental difference towards Closing the Gap in Indigenous employment.”
Our blogs are about helping people seek the information that they need for their steps in the workforce.
